Laurie has been singing in
church since she was 6 or 7 years old. She always loved Jesus
as a little girl but she dedicated her life to The Lord when she was 10
years of age and recalls the call to ministry ever since that time.
Laurie was also dedicated to pursuing her gift with excellence. She has
won the title of "Best
Female Vocalist" in three
Talent Searches which
included one duet category with her sister. Laurie also won a
Talent Search by audience appeal (largest number of votes) with no
supporting fans in the audience.
She had released 2 recordings "Sharing
His Love" and "When
You Reached In My Heart" and
her third Cd was
released in 2004 entitled "Love
So Amazing". The
title track "Love
So Amazing"
has been in the top 50 of the American
Idol
Underground Faith
Charts, 7 times and reached
as far as #6 on the chart
among over 600 songs in the running. She has appeared on national
television several times, done radio interviews and her music has been
played on Christian radio, predominantly in Canada, as well as Europe
and United States.
After The Lord completely healed her from Fibromyalgia in 2001, Chronic
Fatique and Depression, God
turned what the enemy meant for evil. She has made several
Christian television appearances including 100 Huntley Street
and began
speaking at Women's Ministries, sharing her testimony and from the
Word. Since
then, she has seen many ladies commit their lives to the Lord and
receive healing, all for God's glory. Laurie finds that God's presence
is gentle, sweet, very tender and peaceful during opportunities to
minister and pray at the alter with the women. But Laurie
always claims, "God can do whatever He desires through me and He will
show himself however He deems fit."
Musically she has shared the stage with many prominent Canadian
Christian Music Artists and a few American ones too. Since
1988, she has shared the stage with prominent Canadian Christian
artists such as His
Season, Mark Masri, The Toronto Mass Choir, Dan
Macaulay, Marlene O'Neill, Andrew Martin, Lost Coin, the Torchmen
Quartet, The Hilton Family, Lianna Klassen and Cheryl Dunn.
Many
years
ago she has also opened for Mike
Failla, worship leader of Kindgom
Bound Festivals.
Laurie has also opened a
concert for Bob
Kilpatrick, who is known as
the writer of many classic
worship songs of
the church including the song "In
My Life, Lord Be Glorified".
Recently
she opened a concert for Anadara,
the newest artist signed to the Spring
Hill Music
Laurie has shared her testimony and music ministry on National and
Regional Christian Television. She has been invited to return
to these programs several times to minister.
Her music has been played on Christian radio, largely in Canada as well
as some in Europe and United States.
