has been singing in church since she was 6 or 7 years old.
She
always loved Jesus as a little girl but she dedicated her life to The
Lord when she was 10 years of age and recalls the call to ministry ever
since that time. Laurie was also dedicated to pursuing her gift with
excellence. She has won the title of "Best
Female Vocalist" in three
Talent Searches which included one
duet category with her sister. Laurie also won a Talent
Search by
audience appeal (largest number of votes) with no supporting fans in
the
audience.
She had released 2 recordings "Sharing
His Love"
and "When
You Reached In My Heart" and
her third Cd was released in 2004 entitled "Love So Amazing".
The title
track "Love
So Amazing" has
been in the top 50 of the American
Idol Underground Faith Charts,
7 times and reached as far as #6 on the chart among over 600 songs in
the running. She has appeared on national television several times,
done radio interviews and her music has been played on Christian radio,
predominantly in Canada, as well as Europe and United States.After The Lord completely healed her from Fibromyalgia in 2001, Chronic Fatique and Depression, God turned what the enemy meant for evil into good. She has made several Christian television appearances including 100 Huntley Street and began speaking at Women's Ministries, sharing her testimony and from the Word. Since then, she has seen many ladies commit their lives to the Lord and receive healing, all for God's glory. Laurie finds that God's presence is gentle, sweet, very tender and peaceful during opportunities to minister and pray at the alter with the women. But Laurie always claims, "God can do whatever He desires through me and He will show himself however He deems fit." Since 1988, she has shared the stage with prominent Canadian Christian artists such as His Season, Mark Masri, The Toronto Mass Choir, Dan Macaulay, Marlene O'Neill, Andrew Martin, Lost Coin, the Torchmen Quartet, The Hilton Family, Lianna Klassen and Cheryl Dunn. Many years ago she has also opened for Mike Failla, worship leader of Kindgom Bound Festivals. Laurie has also opened a concert for Bob Kilpatrick, who is known as the writer of many classic worship songs of the church including the song "In My Life, Lord Be Glorified". Recently she opened a concert for Anadara, the newest artist signed to the Spring Hill Music Laurie has shared her testimony and music ministry on National and Regional Christian Television. She has been invited to return to these programs several times to minister. Her music has been played on Christian radio, largely in Canada as well as some in Europe and United States.
She neither looks for awards, accolades or prestige to be granted but accepts bookings from the smallest to largest venue as the Lord opens the opportunity to minister. |
