Reflection:
Offerings of Worship
It is also an
act of worship when we
serve one another because this pleases the Father. No sacrifice,
blessing, kind word or gesture goes unseen by Him. When we serve one
another He rejoices in the fact the His love abounds in us toward one
another.
Have You Ever Noticed?
A Brain Teaser
that Challenges The Heart.
The expression
"out of sight, out
of mind" has raised some curious questions for me. It could
have an interesting twist on it.
Often when
people are "out of
sight" from others, it seems that they could very well be far
from the minds of others. Funny though, it's the one who is "out
of sight" who notices this the most. Think about it?
Is
the person who is "out of sight" being super sensitive?
Is
it important to acknowledge a person to their face who is "out
of sight"?
..... should both parties be minding each
other at all or are they all just simply "out of mind"?
The
Haughty Lamp
Once, a young
girl bought a beautiful
lamp from the market. At dusk she filled the lamp with oil and
putting a wick in it, lit it. The lamp began to shine brightly and
clearly.
The members of the family saw the lamp shining
brightly and said it illuminated the darkness with its beautiful
light.
The lamp became proud and said to itself, “Though the
sun gives light, no one praises it. But people praise me for my light
and so I am greater than the sun!”
Suddenly a strong wind
blew out the lamp. The lamp realized its folly and was
embarrassed.
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty
spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).
